SHELL PIN POEM

The early morning is the best time

to go and hunt for shells.

I collect mine in a little blue pail.

Today I’m searching for scallop shells;

the ones that look like fans.

I want to find a few more colors if I can.

Mostly I have calicos

(stripey tan and brown).

But I know there’s a sunset orange one

just waiting to be found.
